Bods

Heritage and Adventure

Woodland Site

Bods is based in 80 acres of ancient woodland in the South of Herefordshire, close to the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and Symonds Yat. The site is a Bush Camp with nature as its closest neighbour, giving a sense of awe, significance and belonging. The setting brings unlimited opportunities for quiet and reflection, as well as survival and adventure activities, which contribute to personal growth and development.

Base Camp

The centre for operations is a campfire and barbeque area, with seating and drinks-making facilities, alongside food preparation areas and secure storehouse.

Ropes Course

Our High and Low Ropes course includes 50ft climbing and abseiling tree, Zip Wires, Swings, Jump-for-the-bar, Indian Rope Bridge, Bosun’s chair, Wobbly bridges and Low Ropes course.

Crafts

A quiet clearing away from base camp is equipped for Green Woodwork and heritage crafts such as hurdle-making, coppicing and bush furniture construction.

Accommodation

Two 8m Yurts, hand-made at Bods, provide sleeping room for 16 young people. Two and three man tents are available for staff, as well as unlimited self-build shelters for groups as required.

Catering & Dining

The campfire, hotplate barbeque and wood-burning oven provide enough space to cook for large groups, with food preparation areas by the fires, or in the large open dining room. Crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, pots and pans are available.

Hygiene

Base camp is fully equipped with a composting toilet, hand wash facilities, shower and kitchen sink, all with running mains water warmed by a wood-burning oven.
